GANTI MICROFILTER

Kerja mengantikan microfilter agak mudah dan boleh di lakukan sendiri. Microfilter terdapat dalam tempat enjin. Terdapat 2 microfilter di kiri dan kanan di belakang petak enjin.

Hari ini beli alat ganti seperti berikut:

Wiper Set : RM96.00
Microfilter : RM70x2 = RM140
ATF : RM50 x 7 botol =RM350
Pan with Filter : RM320

Wiper dan microfilter saya pasang sendiri. ATF akan pergi ke worksyop nanti untuk tukar.

KOS TUKAR ATF

Saya bercadang untuk tukar Minyak gearbox atau Auto Trasmission Fluid (ATF). kos bergantung kepada harga alat ganti (parts). Setengah bengkel akan menjual alat ganti sedikit mahal berbanding jika dibeli di kedai alat ganti. Maklumat yang saya dapat, ada yang dicas sehing RM1,400 dan ada juga yang hanya RM680 bagi menukar ATF.

Jika di Bavarian Auto harga alat ganti adalah seperti berikut:
ATF RM52 sebotol x 7 = RM364
Oil Sum = RM320
Mechatronic seal  = RM65 (hanya perlu tukar sekiranya ada bocor)
Upah kebiasaannya workshop akan cas RM120

Jumlah keseluruhan adalah dalam lingkungan RM800-RM900.

"RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAILURE"

Dapat mesej RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAILURE' dari iDRIVE.

Ianya berkaitan dengan sensor di bawah tempat duduk passanger (Passanger Occupancy Sensor). Fungsi untuk mengetahui sama ada passanger  duduk di kerusi. Sekiranya ada, sistem airbag bahagian pasangger akan berfungsi apabila berlaku impak kemalangan. Sekiranya tiada, airbag akan hanya terkeluar untuk pemandu dan yang lain.

Headrest Kerusi Bergegar

Beberapa entry berkaitan 




"Ive come accross a few E60's with rattling front seats. 

Customers complain it to be from the head rest but its actually from the headrest tube in the seat , that the headrest slides into (the one that you depress the button to remove the headrest).

If you remove the headrest and look inside the tube, right at the top you will see the roller pin that locks the head rest in place. This is the cause of the rattle. 

Rather than replacing the tube (because it will just rattle again in time) you can carry out the following fix.

Apply a small dab of grease to the end of a small screwdriver and apply it to the roller within the tube.

Rattle cured.

Lampu Hijau suis Air Cond Tak Menyala

Pagi ni, saya dapati lampu hijau pada suis aircon di dashboard tidak menyala walaupun aircond dihidupkan.

Alignment dan Balancing


Saya dapati kereta saya akan ke kiri jika steering dilepaskan dan steering akan bergegar pada kelajuan 120kmh. Perlu buat alignment dan balancing tayar. Saya teringat satu kedai di Danau Kota, Setapak yang agak bagus buat alignment dan balancing. Nama tokeh kedai William. Dia sendiri akan buat balancing dan alignment. setiap kali lepas selesai balancing dan alignment, dia kan pasti membawa pelanggannya 'jalan-jalan' untuk memastikan allignment dan balancing telah dibetulkan. Rata-rata pelanggan yang datang berpuas hati dengan khidmatnya.

Yup! masalah alignment dan balancing saya dah selesai!

tetapi kosnya agak mahal sedikit kerana tayar besar 19 inci.

Balancing setiap satu tayar = RM20!! x 4 = RM80.00
Allignment = RM60.00
Jumlah RM140.00

Kata William... BMW maaa, Banyak Makan Wang... haha

'Tayar you mahal la, kena selalu mari bikin alignment/balancing, 3 bulan sekali mari lah'.

"ACTIVE STEERING FAULTY" no 2

Hari ini sekali lagi dapat mesej "ACTIVE STEERING FAULTY". Nampak gayanya setiap kali hujan jikalau langgar air bertakung, besar kemungkinan sensor berkaitan akan terkena air dan menyebabkan masalah ini berlaku.


Buka mukasurat 80 'owner manual" untuk penerangan macam mana untuk reset/initialise kembali active steering.


Saya dapati sekiranya tidak dilakukan, steering akan rasa berat sedikit.

ACTIVE STEERING FAILURE

Hari ini dapat mesej dari OBC mengatakan "ACTIVE STEERING FAULTY".  Saya rujuk di Owner Manual berkaitan Active Steering. Ia adalah satu system steeering yang mengawal steering, dimana steering dikawal oleh komputer mengikut kelajuan kereta untuk pengendalian yang lebih cekap.

OBC bagi mesej supaya active stering di 'initailise' kan. Terdapat dalam owner's manual bagaimana untuk 'initialise' active steering. Setelah saya buat'initailise active steering', mesej di atas tiada lagi.

"BRAKE LIGHT RIGHT FAILURE"

Hari ini saya dapat mesej dari iDRIVE - "BRAKE LIGHT RIGHT FAILURE"

Tapi apabila saya suruh anak saya lihat di belakang kereta semasa saya tekan brek untuk melihat lampu brek, ianya masih menyala walaupun dapat mesej di atas. Saya pun terus ke workshop German Mechanic di Desa View, Melawati. Mekanik dapati 1 bulb/mentol bahagian kanan telah terbakar dan perlu ditukar. Saya bertanya kepada mekanik kenapa lampu brek masih berfungsi? Mekanik menjelaskan BMW telah designkan, dari sudut keselamatan, wiring lampu brek sekiranya lampu terbakar, lampu brek akan disalurkan kepada mentol belakang. Jadi, walaupun mentol lampu brake telah terbakar, lampu brek tetap akan berfungsi.

Jumlah keseluruhan kos = RM4.00 (harga untuk mentol)

GEARBOX JERKING

Masalah gearbox jerking ini agak menjadi lumrah kepada model E60. berikut adalah himpunan cerita dan pengalaman berkaitan gearbox jerking yang dapat saya himpunkan.

cerita1:
"2004 530d - hi..... i had a problem with my car ..... when accelerating or slowing down the gears would not change like they should... the car would jerk and thud... took it to the stealers and they robbed me for £300 for a gear box oil change but still had the problem.....now the interesting bit..... i got annoyed with car and this is how i fixed it.... drives like new.... get in car and drive it on a long stretch of road in D mode.... take car to about 60 mph and flick car into m mode... you'll see on dash that your in gear 6 (M6).... maintain the speed of 60mph then take it down the gears keeping speed up.... go to the lowest gear car allows you to go then flick car back into D MODE.... THAT SHOULD SORT IT.... SORTED MINE.... LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES."

"I am driving a 530 2005 model with automatic transmission, 87,000 km on the clock.
Couple months ago a transmission fault singal came out soon after I felt a slip and low bang when shifting gear. The tranny was then in a protection mode and I took it to the dealer (AGMC in Dubai) immediately. I left the car there foe a week; they test drove, confirmed no mechanical faults, adjusted SAS and re-coding the control unit. 
Things went well for a few days before I felt the "lurch" every time the car is creeping to a full stop. It's very obvious. Mean time, I also notice, in steptronic mode, when the car is static and I downshift from M2 to M1, the gear box jerks with a bang. After putting up with this annoying thing for weeks, I've decided to bring the car to the dealer, again. 
I did replcae the tranny earlier this year after sendingthe car back to the dealer when receiving the "transmission fault" message. The dealer reprogramed twice; I have also tried the "step on for 30 seconds" trick but no success.
I have to say the new tranny was "perfect" only for few thousand KM. I believe that some other members have same experience. Well the lurch is for sure gone but the "ghost" does not disappear. Maybe I am picky but 10,000 km after the new tranny, I am still not satisfied with the tranny. 
I have never got any "transmission fault" code after gettign the tranny replaced. One thing for sure and maybe you can try it; stop your car with the engine running, shift from D to M2 and from M2 to M1, there should be no noise, no jerk from the tranny. My old tranny jerks everytime I did so the new one never response like that. "

Cerita 3:
"First of all, try the 25-second transmission reset trick. This should provide at least temporary relief from the harshness, but you may find the issue returns and the reset can be reperformed.
As for performing software updates out of warranty, I have rarely heard of this being done for free. If this was a safety recall issue they would - but unfortunately it's not, So you have a couple of choices:
a) you can pay for the update, at which point your problem should be fixed, and if it isn't then you have some basis for further repair on this issue on the dealership's dime (or at least I would argue for a refund on the update if it doesn't fix the problem). I highly suggest negotiating on the cost of the programming and trying to make it easy for the dealer to get it done (ie. be willing to leave your car there and have the update done overnight when you won't be taking up an active repair bay). Your mileage will vary depending on your relationship with the dealer/SA. Note I say "should" above as some people with 545's have found the software update to work, but I have heard others getting a transmission replaced for the issue...
b) you can do the 25-sec reset periodically to keep the transmission behaviour. It's a pain, and yes - you shouldn't have to do this with an expensive car, etc., etc., but it's free and if it works then your golden and can get back to enjoying your car."

2-Pressing down the accelerator all the way down (including the lick down button under the accelerator)and keeping it there for 30 seconds
I hear the sound of the transmission & electronics, and it resets to factory setting (loses all the learning it did). "

"The following software errors were corrected with the release of CIP 17.01(Target data Status E060-05-06-500).
Vehicles equipped with 6HP26 up to 4/05, customer complains of harsh downshift. Refer to SI B24 03 05.

Customer may complain of the following:
An excessively harsh 2-1 downshift when decelerating to a stop, or
Transmission "bangs" into gear when accelerating from a full or a "rolling" stop (vehicle did not come to a complete stop).
CAUSE
EGS software.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis only, reprogram/recode complete vehicle using SSS with CIP on-line update 17.01, or higher.
Important:
Transmission temperature must remain below 50 deg C and trans shifter must be placed in P position prior to the start of CIP programming.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
For the appropriate defect code and labor operation refer to the KSD system."

Cerita 6
"Recently, i changed my gearbox oil and filter. Then I found out my gearbox shift pattern not so smooth especially when I'm slowing down my car and it start jerking at gear 2 to gear 1.....should i do the resetting gearbox adaptive memory? 
You are right!!! Just send back my car and ask them to do the resetting. Guess what?!! After resetting no jerk and the car running smooth. I wonder if they are really bmw experts as they claimed. It was so funny when I asked them to do the resetting, they seems like so confused especially the mechanic that handle my car."
